Why Wildlife Management?
At Management, we take pride in our Wildlife Management program, which is designed to meet certification requirements for Associate Wildlife Biologist status as established by The Wildlife Society (TWS). Our program has an active student chapter of TWS, where students come together for seminars led by working wildlife professionals, volunteer projects, and social activities. In addition, our students participate in academic competitions and non-academic outdoor-skill contests at the Southeastern Section of TWS Student Conclave.

Our graduates go on to pursue advanced degrees or qualify for program coordinator positions with employers such as the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, U.S. Forest Service and Fish and Wildlife Service, Ducks Unlimited, and The Nature Conservancy. Employers recognize our graduates for their academic knowledge, practical field skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
What Are the Requirements to be Admitted to the Program?

However, even if you lack preparation in these areas, we are dedicated to helping you overcome any challenges. You should have a passion for science, critical thinking, problem-solving, and fieldwork. Good communication skills are also important for a successful career as a wildlife biologist. While the annual income may not be the highest, the level of job satisfaction in this field is among the highest of any profession.
Where Are Recent Graduates Employed?
Recent graduates of our Wildlife Management program have found employment as biologists, conservation officers, and field biologists.
